Mark’s Post-It Car

It was Matt’s idea. I froze my ass off last night helping him put post-its all over Mark’s car. The next day Matt decided to finish it off by writing on every single post-it.

ALSO: I’m doing the AIDS Walk again this year, maybe you’ve seen the little icon down there under my links. Donations are appreciated!

Boredom strikes!!

So i’m pretty sure that those of you on myspace have seen this going around the bulletins and if there is no interest this will quickly fade into the backgroud, but the game is played like this.

1) Go to google

2) search ” yournamehere was arrested for”

3) paste the best search result in the comments. Lets see what you crazy ba*tards have been up to.

i.e. Jeff was arrested for stalking his soon to be ex-wife and that he’d violated a restraining order

About “editor” privileges

A few people have been asking for the ability to edit the comments they post on other people’s entries. Unfortunately, the user levels built into wordpress don’t allow that fine a grain of control over privileges. I’ve looked for a third party solution to this problem, but no one seems to have made one, and I’m too lazy make one myself. What this means is that if we want to allow people to edit comments on articles that are not their own, I have to give you “editor” level privileges.

So, what’s the problem? Well, the problem is that “editor” level privileges also grants the ability to edit anything written by anyone. Hmm. Dilemma. Now, I feel like this shouldn’t be a problem; were all respectful adults here, right? None of us are going to go on a power trip, right?

What do you all think? What I think is that unless there are any objections, I’m going to give editor privs to anyone who asks for them in the comments for this article. Sound good?

Actually, to me it sounds really good, because it means that I can allow you guys to do something else I wanted to do from the beginning anyway, without me having to alter the privileges to allow it. Once you have editor level privileges, you will also have the ability to add links to the sidebar. You should be able to figure out how to do it just by looking through the new tools you’ll have access to in the wordpress toolbar, but feel free to ask me any questions you may have about using it. All I ask is that you:

1. Add your links to the category named after you (“Ethan’s Links,” “Jeff’s Links,” etc)
2. Don’t mess with other people’s links
3. Check with everyone else first if you have an idea for a new category of links
